Important Security Information
Serious
side effects of LONSURF can occur, including:
• Low
blood counts. Low blood count is common with LONSURF and can sometimes be
serious and life-threatening. Low white blood cells can make you more likely to
get serious infections that can lead to death. Your healthcare provider should
perform blood tests before you receive LONSURF, on Day 15 during treatment with
LONSURF, and as needed to check your blood cell count. Your healthcare provider
may lower your dose of Lonsurf or stop Lonsurf if you have low white blood cell
or platelet counts.
Before
taking LONSURF, tell your healthcare provider about all of your medical
conditions, including if you:

have kidney or liver problems
• Are
pregnant or planning to become pregnant. LONSURF may harm your unborn baby.
•
Women may become pregnant: Your healthcare provider will confirm your pregnancy
status before starting treatment with Lonsurf. You must use effective birth
control during and for 6 months after your last dose of treatment with LONSURF.
Tell your healthcare provider right away if you become pregnant.
•
Men, during treatment and for 3 months after the last dose of LONSURF, you
should use a condom during sex with female partners who are capable of becoming
pregnant. Tell your healthcare provider right away if your partner becomes
pregnant while taking Lonsurf.
• Are
breast-feeding or planning to breast-feed. It is not known whether Lonsurf
passes into your breast milk.
Tell
your healthcare provider about all prescription and over-the-counter medicines,
vitamins, and herbal supplements you take.
The
most common side effects with Lonsurf include fatigue (tiredness, weakness),
nausea, loss of appetite, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and fever.
These
