Mitotane (Lysodren)

You take mitotane as pills. You can also take this with other cancer treatments by the advice of the physician. The nurse or pharmacist will give you mitotane tablets to take at home. Always take your pills exactly as told by the nurse or pharmacist. It's important to make sure they work for you as well as possible. The nurse or pharmacist can give you a copy of the treatment plan to take home with you.

Mitotane tablets usually taken 2 or 3 times a day. But always take your pills exactly as the nurse or pharmacist tells you. Take them during meals high in fat, such as milk, chocolate, oil or cheese. Fats help the body absorb the medicine.

You usually start off with a low dose of Mitotane Cost. Your doctor will gradually increase the dose. They will check the amount of mitotane in your blood by doing regular blood tests. When you first start taking mitotane you will need to have your blood tested once or twice a week. Once the doctor is happy with your dose, they will test your blood once a month.

Side Effects

Mitotane can affect your eyesight. However, it is very rare. If you notice any blurred vision or changes in your vision, tell your doctor.
